Chest of drawers, French, from the Rhone Valley. This Empire period piece is made of solid figured walnut. The solidly crafted cabinet features four dovetailed drawers with original finely cast bronze hardware. The detached columns are typical of period Empire chests. We love the natural pattern of the figured wood and the intact original marble slab. The marble has been repaired professionally.
